  1. I tried to leave this comment on Barbara's thread, but she doesn't seem to allow comments from anyone unless they have the appropriate ID. Will you pass it on to her?

I'm glad to find this site. Barbara deserves a fan site!!

Hi Barbara, I read your story "Susie's Choice" and absolutely loved it. Of all the books I've read from Ellora's Cave it is one of the few that I loved for the story and the characters and for the fact that I just had to see what happened to the three of them and their life together, not just what happened the next time they went to bed!

I came to your website to take a look and saw there was controversy about your new book, so I decided I must go and buy it. I bought both it and "Strangers". I'm still to read "Doing the right thing" because once I started "Strangers" I couldn't stop. I read the whole thing in one go (and the laptop got very hot on my lap -- please can you get published in hard copy? lol)

I loved this book. Loved, loved, loved it. I laughed. I cried. I couldn't wait to know what would happen for Kate and Charlie. I've heard that publishers don't like stories about movie stars or rock stars, but I don't know why. (I also just read Susan Elizabeth Phillips' book "What I did for love" which is all about celebrities and the cost of fame - although very different to "Strangers" - and loved that too.)

When I first started reading I wondered how on earth a story about two people who meet while trying to commit suicide could possibly work. You made it work. I cared about both characters, even if Charlie was a bit of bastard sometimes and Kate a little too weak for her own good.

I'm looking forward to reading "Doing the right thing" and I'll let you know what I think when I do.

In the meantime, please keep writing such lovely, sexy stories that have characters I actually care about.

  2. Hi Emmie. Thanks so much for your comments. I'll let Barbara know you posted. I'm sure she'll appreciate your thoughts about SUSIE'S CHOICE and STRANGERS.

Please be sure to come back and let us know what you think of DOING THE RIGHT THING once you've read it.

  3. Hi Emmie,
Thanks so much for your comment. I don't know why the site wouldn't let you post - its the same set up as this one as far as I know but I'll take a look and see if something is locked.

Thanks very much for you lovely comments.I very glad you enjoyed Strangers and Susie's Choice. Funnily enough, just before I left the States after a holiday over Christmas, I bought the Susan Elizabeth Phillips. I just love her stories. I haven't read it yet. I'm saving it for a miserable day because I know it will cheer me up.
As for coming out in paperback - well Ellora's Cave assured me that all my books WILL eventually come out in paperback but I have no idea when. I have to admit - Strangers is the one I long to see on my bookshelf. In a bookshop would ne nice too!!
    Thanks for stopping by!
    Barbara
